Products Description
The exhaust manifold is a component connected between the exhaust pipe and the exhaust pipe of the engine, and its function is to bring together the exhaust gases from multiple exhaust pipes and export them out of the car. Due to the high exhaust temperature and discharge pressure, so the exhaust manifold material needs to have high temperature, high pressure and corrosion resistance and other characteristics, generally commonly used materials are cast iron, stainless steel and so on.
In the automotive industry, cast iron has become one of the commonly used materials in the exhaust system, its main advantages are as follows: good high-temperature stability, good corrosion resistance, good noise reduction effect, cast iron materials, high mass density, can effectively absorb and reduce the noise, attenuate the noise pollution of the automotive exhaust system. Among cast iron materials, the most commonly used are gray cast iron and ductile iron.
Cast iron material is a steel-like casting material containing 2~4% carbon and other alloying elements, with good castability and workability. In the automobile industry, cast iron has become one of the commonly used materials in the exhaust system, and its main advantages are as follows:
(1) good high temperature stability
Cast iron material has high thermal conductivity and low coefficient of linear expansion. Therefore, at high temperatures, the exhaust manifold material will not produce large dimensional deformation, to ensure the accurate connection and stability of the exhaust pipeline.
(2) Good corrosion resistance
The cast iron material has good corrosion resistance and can work for a long time in a heavily polluted environment without being affected by chemical corrosion.
(3) Good noise reduction effect
Cast iron materials have high mass density, which can effectively absorb and reduce noise and attenuate the noise pollution of the automobile exhaust system.
In cast iron materials, the most commonly used are gray cast iron and ductile iron.
