What Factors Affect the Performance of Valve Body



The valve body, as the core component of the valve, has a direct impact on the performance and service life of the valve through its design, material, and manufacturing process. The performance of Ventilkörper is influenced by various factors, which can be summarized as follows.

 

1、 Material Factors of Valve Body  

 

Corrosion resistance: The material of the Ventilkörper directly affects its corrosion resistance. Different materials have different corrosion resistance to different media. For example, stainless steel valves exhibit good corrosion resistance in media such as nitric acid, alkali, water, salt, and organic acids, but have poor corrosion resistance to non oxidizing acids such as sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid. Cast iron valves are suitable for media with low corrosiveness, such as water, steam, petroleum products, etc., but perform poorly in highly corrosive media.

 

Strength and hardness :The strength and hardness of the material determine the ability of the Ventilkörper to withstand pressure and impact. Casting defects :Defects such as pores, sand holes, shrinkage cavities, slag inclusions, and cracks that may occur during the casting of Ventilkörper can seriously affect the mechanical properties and service life of the Ventilkörper. Therefore, strict control of process parameters and inspection standards is required during the casting process to ensure the quality of the Ventilkörper.

 

Forging quality :The forging processing method can ensure the strength and sealing of the Ventilkörper, but the forging processing cost is relatively high. During the forging process, it is necessary to ensure the uniformity and density of the material in order to improve the overall performance of the Ventilkörper.

 

Welding quality :The welding processing method is suitable for the manufacturing of small and medium-sized valves. The welding quality has a significant impact on the sealing and mechanical properties of valves. Welding defects such as weld cracking, porosity, and hydrogen induced delayed cracking can significantly reduce the performance and service life of valves.
